The world knows, haamro deshka Netaharu have decided to launch the Constituent Assembly Part II. Well, the leaders could have easily brought out the constitution if a few more months were added to the previous Constituent Assembly as well. However, each party and nearly each leader thought otherwise.
And, now they are already
deceiving us. They asked us votes promising that they will draft the
constitution Within ONE Year. They all (one, two, three and all) said ‘One Year’, but they themselves
have officially decided the 2nd Constituent Assembly to be for 5
years. And more than 100 days have passed, but nothing is being done.
The people
are looking helpless again.
But we can do more. Like:
we can sign this Petition, this Letter Demanding Action to the high ranking
officials, the major parties and their leaders. If you just sign this petition with 4 simple
steps, an E-mail will be sent to each of them from your name.
Imagine hundreds of e-mails from
ordinary people like us flooding the inboxes of the President, the Vice-President,
The Ministers, The Speakers and the members of Sambidhan Sabha, the
political parties and leaders like Mr. Gagan Thapa, Mr. Madhav Kumar Nepal
and Dr. Baburam Bhattarai.
May be this won’t work. May be
they will plainly ignore all of our voices. But on the other hand this may
spark something beautiful. The few good leaders there may be energized and may
be some of the Gunda Netaharu will hesitate before they decide on
relaxing for some more weeks before they get to doing what they are paid to do.
By Voting (or in some cases, Not
Voting) we have given them our country’s power. It is also up to us: by signing
this Petition we can earn for ourselves a better future- let’s cut all guff
– maybe we can get our constitution in time.
